How long does it take to assemble?
There is virtually no assembly. They are specifically designed to seamlessly fit into place, securely anchored, and easily integrated with your preferred finish. This streamlined installation process will be appreciated by your builder or interior designer, as it is quick and hassle-free. However, it is essential to ensure that the installation adheres to the clearance requirements, especially regarding potential obstructions such as curtains, tree branches, and similar objects.

How long will my ethanol fireplace burn?
Burn times for our ethanol fireplaces vary based on flame size and fuel capacity of the burner. FLAIME Fire’s ethanol fireplaces will burn between 6-8 hours when full.
How do I turn my ethanol fireplace on or off?
Step 1: Extend the flame arrester, and use the hook at the end to lift open the ethanol burner lid.
Step 2: Once fuelled, ignite the burner using a long stem lighter.
Step 3: To extinguish, use the hook at the end of the flame arrester to close the ethanol burner lid.
How safe is a bioethanol fuel?
When utilized in a bioethanol fireplace, bioethanol proves to be an exceptionally stable fuel source. It burns constantly and uniformly, without producing any embers, soot, smoke, or ash. This combustion process remains entirely contained within the burner unit, eliminating the possibility of any escape or unpredictability. In contrast, timber, for example, can exhibit varying combustion characteristics and may even shift within the fireplace, necessitating the use of guards and a hearth.
Do ethanol fireplaces smell?
All heating appliances have their own smell be it gas, wood or electric - ethanol fireplaces are no different. BioLit ethanol fuel is made of fermented plants like sugarcane or corn and is essentially a liquid alcohol. To safely make “denatured” and unfit for consumption, substances have been added. The burning of these substances may cause a slight smell upon initial lighting and when the flame is extinguished – similar to when you blow out a candle. BioLit ethanol fuel is the only fuel recommended for your FLAIME Fire ethanol fireplace.The nice thing about using ethanol is that it’s not dry like gas or smokey like wood.
Can I extinguish my ethanol fireplace before the fuel has burnt?
Yes, you can turn your FLAIME burner off at any given time, even if there is ethanol still left in the burner. It is recommended however, that you leave it to burn until it completely runs out. The shut off mechanism is there for security and safety for those times when you need to leave the house, as it is not safe to leave a fire unattended. You need to wait until your appliance cools to room temperature (60 minutes) before re-igniting, this is because hot vapours are a hazard and may cause a strong, initial ignition if the ethanol has not cooled long enough. This is also to ensure that the flame has been totally extinguished and that the appliance is safe to refuel if the amount of fuel in the burner at that time is insufficient for your next ignition / use.
Do bioethanol fireplaces leave condensation during the burn process?
The moisture or water vapour created in the burning of the fuel is minimal and thus only adds to the air and does not condensate on hard surfaces such as walls or glass/windows.
How do I clean my ethanol fireplace?
Bioethanol fireplaces are practically maintenance-free. Because the fuel burns clean, no cleaning is needed before or after use. Occasionally, you may need to clean any residues near the burner opening. This is due to dust or impurities in the air that got burned during operation. Mild soap and water or a stainless-steel cleaner can be used to wipe off any residue.
